Sudden shock Stress

Sudden Shock or acute stress or bad new can affect people very badly; in a severe case of physical shock an ambulance should be called if the person has lost consciousness for more than a few seconds. You should lie them down; raise their legs higher than their heart (while maintaining their dignity) loosen any clothing that may be tight around their neck. Always be mindful of someones dignity. If someone just feels faint it is better to lie the down as they may faint and hurt themselves falling.  There are several essential oils that can help in this situation and a well known one is camphor oil. Melissa, Peppermint and Neroli are also good oils in this situation. I would suggest Peppermint and Camphor oil a few drops on a tissue or handkerchief and allow the person to inhale the aroma directly, in other words not diluted in a carrier oil.

Basil, Juniper, Lavender, Cedarwood, Neroli and Rose essential oils are all good for sudden or acute stress. Lavender and Rose blend very well together and are very calming. You can add Geranium for an uplifting effect.  You could add a few drops of the last three oil into a carrier oil and add them to your bathwater. Or you could have a partner massage you with these oils.  Remember you only need a few drops of each oil as they are very powerful although these three are considered very safe oils; when there is any doubt patch test first.  You could inhale the mixture straight from the carrier oil .  Or you could massage the combination of oils in the carrier oil straight into your face and neck.  The oils are very good for your complexion too! especially Rose oil but really good Rose oil is very expensive.
